Our line of SE speaker cables was designed to be used with low power amplifiers and high efficiency speakers. The name "SE" is a bit of a marketing decision since as you pointed out the speaker cables can be used with any type of amplifier.
In all speaker cable applications the goal is to have just enough copper to transfer the required current without limitation. If you have too much copper you will have extra inductance and end up storing energy inside the cable for no reason. This extra copper can make the sound worse.
So as you can see all speaker cables must have a good balance and this balance should also have a synergy with your amp and speakers.
If your speakers are 99 db then they require much less power to drive than a speaker rated at 87 db and will also draw much less current; so the speaker cable for the 99 db speaker can be much smaller overall gauge assuming you are running them the same length.
I hope this helps you understand our vision for the SE speaker cables.
