Resultaterne begynder nu at flyde ud over Øresund....

"Imported from Latin America, this music is certainly black and powerful; and it exercises a strong impact on the nervous system and extremities when inhaled deeply. An addict’s symptoms are triggered off by a pleasantly mild and fragrant vocal fine cut grown in the tablelands; even when breathed in deeply, the rich bouquet given off by the rhythmic fermentation of the background is never pungent or overbearing. On the contrary: the mellowness will bring your day to a perfect end.
Needless to say, this quality blend, delivered in its natural cover(ing), really ought to be covered by the Drug Offences Act, for the longer one listens to the music, the greater the danger of becoming hopelessly addicted to it. Perhaps it would be wise to consult your physician – or dancing tutor or record dealer! Full enjoyment is however guaranteed."

Denne her passer perfekt til vores dejlige sommer.

The reunion that took place in this 1961 session was between Russell and tenor-great Coleman Hawkins; they had first recorded one of the songs, ("If I Could Be with You") back in 1929. Both Hawk and Russell had remained modern soloists and on this unusual but very satisfying date (which also features trumpeter Emmett Berry and trombonist Bob Brookmeyer) they explore such numers as a pair of Ellington classics ("All Too Soon" and "What Am I Here For?"), two Russell originals, and even the boppish "Tin Tin Deo." - All Music Guide

En anden mine Pee Wee plader er denne (det er suværen luksus at have to plader med ham i så overlegen optage- og pladeproduktion.

A landmark early stereo recording from the CounterPoint/Esoteric record label, released early in 1958. Featuring Pee Wee's famous liquid clarinet plus support from his friends Ruby Braff, Bud Freeman, Nat Pierce, Vic Dickenson and others. These founding fathers of jazz make a surprising transition from hot sounds of the 20's to the cool sounds of the 50's without any effort. A really good hybrid of styles; something for everybody. Great stereo sound! Featuring: That Old Feeling, Out Of Nowhere, Exactly Like You, If I Had You and many others. Lacquer cut directly from the analog two-track original masters.

THE WARSAW RECITAL 1955
Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli

Works:
Domenico Scarlatti: Sonatas L352, L413, L483, L449
Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.3 op.2 in C major
Chopin: Waltz in E flat major No.14
Schumann: Faschingsschwank aus Wien op.26
Debussy: Hommage a Rameau
Mompou: Cancion y danza No.1

In 1955, Michelangeli amazed the members of 5th Chopin Competition in Warsaw by agreeing to serve on their jury. To the joy of the organizers, he also agreed to take part in two performances; a solo recital and a symphony concert (ALT1007). These legendary performances, now on Altara, were his only appearances in Poland and marked his return to the concert platform.

“…if you want to hear a great pianist captured on the wing in recital then Michelangeli’s 1955 Warsaw recording of Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien has to be among your first ports of call. To hear the Intermezzo so performed – with so much subtle shading – is to understand at least one explanation for Michelangeli’s awesome reputation. Such a beautiful sound too: powerful, sonorous and silky smooth,
with the most melting pianissimo. The Altara CD also includes superb performances of Beethoven…Scarlatti…Chopin…Debussy and Mompou…the sound here is altogether clearer than on any previous edition I’ve heard.” Rob Cowan (The Gramophone)
Born in Brescia in 1920, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli was to his fans, the greatest virtuoso of the 20th Century. He never set out to dazzle audiences with pianistic tricks or pyrotechnics, even though he was technically one of the surest masters of the keyboard. At the end of a Michelangeli performance, the listener is left with a deeper understanding of the music rather than simply spellbound by his extraordinary skill, dexterity and tone.

SCRIABIN
Harmonia Mundi HMN911914
Sonatas Nos. 2, 3 & 9, Fantasie Op.28, 5 Préludes Op. 74, 2 Poèmes Op. 32,
Feuillet d'album Op. 45 No.1, 2 Morceaux Op. 57 (Désir & Caresse dansée),
Ironies Op. 56 No. 2, Prélude Op. 25 No. 3, Mazurka Op. 11 No. 4
Alexander Melnikov (piano)

"My deepest gratitude goes to Pavel Lobanov who accomplished the mammoth task of deciphering Scriabin's performances recorded in 1908 and 1910 on the Ludwig Hupfeld phonola and the Welte-Mignon reproducing piano, and who published them in two volumes as 'New Versions' of Scriabin's pieces. This has largely dictated the choice of the repertoire for this CD, and I have used those materials extensively in the preparation for the recording as regards rubato and other stylistic matters. The Prelude Op.11 No.4 is included as a declaration of love to Vladimir Sofronitsky, arguably the finest performer of Scriabin's music. There is an amateur recording of him teaching this piece, again made by Mr Lobanov."

Alexander Melnikov Born in Moscow in 1973. Sviatoslav Richter invited him to the Tarussa Festival in Russia and to his music festival at La Grange de Meslay. Alexander Melnikov was selected as a BBC New Generation Artist from 2000 to 2002.

VIVALDI Violin Concertos

Concerto for Violin "Il Grosso Mogul" in D major RV 208
Concerto for 4 Violins & Cello in B Minor RV 580 (op.3 n°10)
Concerto for Violin in C Major RV 187
Concerto for Violin " L'Inquietudine" in D Major RV 234
Concerto for Violin "Il Favorito" in E Minor RV 277

Viktoria Mullova
il Giardino Armonico/ Giovanni Antonini

Outstanding collaboration between Russian virtuoso Viktoria Mullova and top Italian Baroque band, il Giardino Armonico under charismatic direction of Giovanni Antonini

5 amazing virtuoso violin concertos, several little-known by the immortal Antonio Vivaldi

Mullova first played with IGA 3 years ago and was so excited by the experience that she completely revised her technique to suit the Baroque style

Mullova already shows her credentials in period violin playing from her outstanding successes in Mozart Concertos with OAE and Beethoven/Mendelssohn Concertos with John Eliot Gardiner/ORR

This is not Mullova’s first excursion into the period-instrument world but it is certainly her most successful: a thrilling coming-together of a top ensemble and a violinist of spectacular virtuosity (and the taste to direct that virtuosity to best effect). As so often with Vivaldi concertos there are discoveries aplenty to be made.

Marlis Petersen; Werner Güra; Dietrich Henschel; RIAS-Kammerchor; Freiburger Barockorchester/ René Jacobs

By going back to the original version of The Seasons (with the orchestral introductions played in their entirety), René Jacobs, produces an immensely exciting account, with the excellent Freiburger Barockorchester supporting an ideally chosen young trio of soloists: Marlis Petersen, Werner Güra and Dietrich Henschel.

RIAS-Kammerchor are sublime as Haydn's lusty peasants, making this recording of The Seasons anything but a poor relation of the more familiar Creation.
