Contrary to comments by Edward James Olmos at the Saturn Awards this week, executive producer David Eick tells Sci-Fi.Com that no end has been announced for the award-winning show.

Battlestar Galactica is preparing to film its fourth season, one that will include 22 episodes, rather than the previously announced 13.

"For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show's end. I promise you that when [executiuve producer] Ron [Moore] and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know." says Eick.

Battlestar Galactica to End After Season 4

SCI FI Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" will sign off next year after its fourth season, producers said Thursday. Variety says the series had to fight to get renewed for a fourth season.

Executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick issued a joint statement saying it was their decision to end the series.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," the producers said. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms."

The producers promised to end the show "with a bang."

"Battlestar" will begin its fourth season with a two-hour episode in November. It will then return in early 2008 to finish out its 22-episode run.

SCI FI Channel hasn't yet said if it plans to move forward with a proposed "Battlestar" prequel series.

In other DVD release news from Comic-Con, at a panel featuring the cast of Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica, it was revealed that when the forthcoming Razor  tie-in movie (which airs on Sci-Fi on 11/24) arrives on DVD (a few weeks later), it will feature an uncut, stand-alone version of the 2-part episode. Look for Universal's Battlestar Galactica: Season Three box set to street around then as well, sometime before the debut of the series' fourth and final season on Sci-Fi in January. By the way, Razor  will also feature some familiar characters... original 1970s series Cylons! You can read more here at Home Media.

Der er ingen grund til at købe "Battlestar Galactica: Season One" pÃ¥ HD-DVD, den er ligsÃ¥ sÃ¥ ringe som den normale DVD version
